Train-record holder

The train was set up in 1930 by the German Reyhsbanom, weighed only 20 tons, and was equipped with a 46-year-liter BMW V-12 firepower 600 horsepower.

Subsequently, these engines were used in the Luftwaffe bombers. To keep the train on the tracks propeller was tilted by 7 degrees.

Originally constructed at a speed of about 193 km / h in 1931, he set a record of 224 km / h, which was not broken for another 23 years. But none of the train on the petrol engine never broke that record.

Unfortunately, Schienenzeppelin never went into production because of security problems. The prototype set a record speed was dismantled in 1939, went on to create aluminum Messerschmitt for Uncle Adolf.
