US gives Russia two days on the de-escalation of the situation in Ukraine

Otherwise, the US administration has promised to introduce a new level of sanctions against Russia.

The Russian Federation has a few days to prove its commitment to favor the removal of the pro-Russian armed groups from the eastern regions of Ukraine reached during a meeting in Geneva. This was stated by Advisor to the US President for National Security Affairs, Ambassador Susan Rice.

"We expect, and we will follow, is it really Russia reaffirmed their commitments, utilizing its powerful influence on deterrence and elimination of irregular military groups from occupied buildings and places of occupation," - said Rice.

According to her, the US side will assess the actions of Russia "over the next few days." If a positive result is not achieved, the US administration will impose sanctions against Russia a new level, which, according to Rice, were already prepared to conduct the meeting in Geneva.

Recall after the quadripartite meeting in Ukraine on Thursday in the Swiss capital, in the format of Ukraine-Russia-US-EU, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov voiced orders separatists in eastern Ukraine to disarm and leave the occupied buildings. However, the extremists have refused to do it, inventing additional conditions and parallel pulling their claims to the current Ukrainian government.

Later, the Russian Federation has put forward its first Ukrainian authorities an ultimatum by the Geneva agreements - must first disarm rights activist and unlock the building sector controlled maydanovtsami.
