I have a friend who lives in Germany, he has a hobby to engage in excavations stuff, recently boasted of his findings ...
Here is his comment about the excavation site and other things:
Career where we are digging on Belgian territory in the area of Kelmis, Hauset and gEMENICH near Aachen.
This so-called Aachen sands. Here was the coastal strip and a large river delta with very boggy areas in which both kinds of wood piled up and bumps. which subsequently collapses sand in consequence of what that natural disasters. The wood is clearly visible traces of shellfish (Toredo) carpenter that says that wood is floating in the sea water.
In the world there are only a few places where you can find similar things.
And in Aachen sands found at least 7-8 types of cones,
most of which are not described.
