I want to tell you a little story about the few people who care about the fate of our smaller brethren.
It's about a private shelter for dogs and cats, which is located in Donetsk, Ukraine.
My family and I have long been helping as much as possible, orphanages and shelters for animals. This weekend spontaneously decided to go to one of the shelters in Donetsk, help to take pictures and tell you. Maybe someone may be, it will be interesting.

The shelter is located in the private sector, not far from the city center. I do not know whether you can call it a shelter, in fact, this private house with a small plot of land, where they found shelter about 200 dogs and 50 cats! No legal status and state aid does not have a shelter, this is the position of power: no shelter - no dogs, no dog - no problem. But as we all know - the dog is, and there are problems.
Recently read someone's call to help homeless animals and really liked the phrase "we go and shamefully omit the eyes, and try to pretend not to notice them." But, as it does not sound trite: we are responsible for those who tamed. And this is the rare case when a small group of people responsible for those who tamed many others.
Mistress name is Natasha, who looked about 50 years. Though a lot of problems at the shelter, primarily financial, Natasha optimistic, even a sense of humor survived.
It all started just felt sorry for dogs and cats, abandoned, sick and they took them. Over time, this became known neighbors and acquaintances and started to "supply" of animals in need of help and shelter. Dogs filled the yard, barn and outbuilding, as well as the house in which she lives. Place no more and came to help a neighbor Luda penetrated and gave part of his court and himself into the bargain. Later joined Natasha's friend and now three women is a major part of the staff of a shelter, there are a few male volunteers.

It has a kitchen with two coal-wood-heated, which cooks a large amount of dog food.



Cereals and by-products or shelter volunteers bring their own purchases, but with the constant financial problems often take food on credit, the benefit is sympathetic. Now gathered a decent debt for food, so this visit we helped financially. You can still help with food, cloth, medicines, building materials and hands. If you notice a small table hid the spies.

The only thing in common - all the dogs in the cage larger than average, she explains that this part of the shelter for large dogs. If you honestly expect that it will be very noisy and unpleasant smell but I was mistaken, and the dogs smelled passable behaved culturally.
