The island of Oahu is the longest Haiku Stairs. This amazing structure was built long ago in 1942. It was necessary for the military - with her they could get to the antennas, located at an altitude of about 609 meters.




In the mid-1950s, a wooden structure was replaced by a metal Haiku. The staircase rises to a height of nearly 900 meters, it has about 4000 steps. Climbing to the top of the stairs, you can see the enchanting landscapes.



Often at this altitude it is dense overcast and the top is hidden in the clouds. That is why sometimes it is called "Stairway to Heaven».
