"Pink Champagne"
Meet this Mico, 4-month-old fox-colored "pink champagne". Fox this color were first bred in the Canadian farm, a hundred years ago. They are so rare species that is currently in the world there are only two such individuals: one lives in Ontario, and the other is Mico. Such foxes bred in captivity and only contain as pets in Canada.
Owner Mico leads blog that shares his experiences of detention fox at home and answers the questions of people interested.
Some ask whether Miko albino. What the master fox says that Mico is a fox-colored pink champagne, produced by crossing the red fox, albino, gray foxes and some other species.
Fox color pink champagne, unlike albinos, which are pure white, have an intense noticeably pink / peach shade. Their eyes are also deeper color than albino that are pale blue eyes.
These two types of foxes have something in common: both individuals cubs are born completely white. Only at the age of 5 months, the fox begins to produce champagne color pink hue, which over the years becomes more saturated.
It took about 30 years to stabilize the color gene and achieve his perfection.
Miko likes to play and dig in the autumn leaves.
There lisёnku three months
Once Miko escaped and was missing for a week. For an animal born and raised in captivity it could end tragically.
Someone opened the gate of his cage at night (which is why it is important to have a lock or alarm), and after a week of searches, putting up posters, I found it. On it was skin and bones, he was very dirty (it is gray, instead of his usual beige) and severe diarrhea caused by the fact that he must have eaten it by itself.
Captive-bred tame foxes can not live independently. They are not wild animals. Yes, in some cases, they will be able to adapt, as some dog or cat that ran away, but usually they either starve or die from cars.
Now with Miko's all right and he is happy to be back home!
