Paper art

Paper art and photography are interwoven in the work of Canadian artist from Ontario Elia McKay (Elly MacKay), known under the pseudonym «Theater Clouds» («Theatre cloud").

All work begins with the manufacture of multi-layer drawings, which are made of colored paper. Thus, the figures are similar to the 3D theater of miniatures. Next comes the fun part, the artist transforms into a photographer and starts to play with lighting and filters to until you get the desired atmosphere.

Ellie Mackay usually makes about 50 photographs, among which selects the best. What at first glance seems to be a pattern or picture is actually 3D miniature handmade.
Recently, the artist started to illustrating children's books entitled «If You Hold A Seed» («If you keep the seed"), which will be released in February 2013.

The artist herself says: Childhood - a special world, a separate state with its own laws, principles and concepts. And the task of adults - to explore the world, bringing him only good and well. For example, books, songs, cartoons, toys, or here, to illustrate the stories and fairy tales.
