On April 26, 1986, there was a terrible accident in Chernobyl. The Soviet authorities decided to hide this fact because demonstrations were planned for May 1. Alla Pugacheva was already an all-Union famous and popular performer. But fame did not change her human qualities. At the end of April, Alla Pugacheva came to the office of the secretary of the Central Committee of the CPSU and asked not to interfere with bureaucratic red tape in holding a concert for the liquidators of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant. Yakovlev promised not only not to interfere, but also to help the singer.

To attract attention to the concert he was called “904”. In the concert program, in addition to Alla Pugacheva, Alexander Gradsky, the group “Bravo”, “Autograph” and “Cruise” performed. No one could even imagine this scale. The organizers of the concert in a matter of days sold all tickets for the concert and assembled a full stadium Olympic. Charitable contributions were transferred not only by residents of the entire USSR, but also by residents of other countries from all over the world. This concert allowed to collect just a space amount at that time – 543 million Soviet rubles. This money was used to help the victims of the explosion and the liquidators of the accident.

But the organization of such a large-scale concert did not calm the Diva. A few months later she received an invitation from the liquidators. They asked Alla Borisovna to come to Chernobyl and give a concert for those who saved people at the cost of their lives. You can say it was their last desire in life to hear songs and see Alla Pugacheva. After all, how long they will live and in what torment no one could even imagine. Alla Borisovna did not hesitate to agree to this concert.

The concert was planned in the settlement of Vakhtaviks in Strakholesia. The name speaks for itself, and after the explosion, it was the scariest and most dangerous place on the planet. People were evacuated urgently, so all things were scattered around the village. Roofed doors and windows in abandoned houses, wild mad pets roam the streets. Up to 4 power unit is only a couple of kilometers and there is no reinforced concrete sarcophagus above it. More than 9 thousand liquidators gathered for the concert with Pugacheva.

Alla Borisovna was given clear safety instructions: do not accept gifts and flowers, do not approach anyone close and do not communicate. Radiation levels were several hundred times higher than normal. But the Diva was still safe. She came to the people. There she first performed her new song “Two Stars”. And when she came to the performance of the song “Only You”, she came down from the stage and invited one of the liquidators to dance. She sang and they were circling in dance, the singer gently placed her head on his shoulder. After some time it became known that this man died from the received dose of radiation.

How old was Alla Pugacheva at that time? Only 37 years! After this concert, the health of the singer deteriorated dramatically. In her years, the singer began to have serious problems with the endocrine system. It took her a long time to recover, but the consequences were dire. After the concert in Stracholesie, the singer began to coarse her voice. He quickly sat down, but Alla Pugacheva continued to sing. Subsequently, she was awarded the title of Liquidator of the Chernobyl Accident. And many years later, when they began to shoot the film Chernobyl, Alla Borisovna wrote the soundtrack to it. I saw the horror of the accident with my own eyes.
