What St. Kuksha of Odessa calls us to think about, the prophecies of the wise saint

The prophecies of saints attract people no less than the predictions of psychics and tarologists. It is always interesting to know what the seers who have long been dead warned about. Saint Kuksha of Odessa left behind many interesting predictions. Let’s find out which of them correspond to the realities of our lives.

When Cosmas (the real name of the saint) was 20 years old, he went with pilgrims to the Holy Land. He lived in Jerusalem for six months and then went to Mount Athos. It was then that he decided to become a monk, but first he wanted to be blessed by his parents. They did not mind, and soon Cosmas began his long journey to God.

During the First World War, Xenophon (the priest’s new monastic name) was a brother of mercy in the Kiev-Lviv ambulance train. For a long time he served in the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra. Then he fell seriously ill and found his salvation in the service. He was cut in a great schema and called Kuksha. He took a solemn oath to observe the strict ascetic rules of conduct.

Upon his return to freedom, he continued to help people who were constantly reaching for him, no matter how much the authorities tried to isolate the clergyman.

The last years of his life he served in the Assumption Cathedral in Odessa. That is why he received such a name – Kuksha Odessa. The veneration of the Monk Kuksha began immediately after his death. In 1994, he was canonized as a local saint of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church.

About what Kuksha warned Odessa Kuksha Odessa was sure that the joyous human days are numbered. This is not the time to be happy and enjoy yourself. And not the place to arrange weddings and other magnificent celebrations. Now it is extremely important to repent and atone for your sins for all worldly pleasures.

We must leave behind everything that gave us unbridled fun, because of which people lost touch with God and forgot about the main commandments of God. For God to forgive us all we have done, we need to pray for it day and night.

Only those who sincerely repent and realize that they made mistake after mistake will receive pardon at God’s terrible judgment. Kuksha Odessa warned that a terrible time is approaching, and there will simply be no way back.

The priest believed that the hour would come when all faiths would lose their strength and unite into one. There will be a single council where all the infidels will converge. Monasticism will cease to exist, and bishops will acquire wives and families.

Kuksha urged us to go to temples while they still exist. By the way, this forecast largely echoes the predictions of Lavrentiy Chernigovsky. He said that the Antichrist would appear on earth, and persecution of Christians would begin.

Forecasts of Kuksha Odessa can hardly be called positive. “Now begins chapter 3 of the prophet Ezra. Death is quickly coming to us, the clergyman wrote. After reading the latest news, you begin to believe it.

Although it has long been clear that difficult times have come, Kuksha Odessa also talked about the good. For example, all people who have committed bad deeds will sooner or later be punished: “But the people of this world will do iniquity to the very end and for sins will be thrown into a bottomless pit in hell-fire, because they do not know what they are doing.”

The prophecies of saints leave room for reflection. What thoughts did you get from the words of Kuksha Odessa?
