How to Draw a Rose with a Pencil
- First, use a simple pencil to sketch a flower. The rose should not be perfectly flat, because nature is imperfect.
- To add a pattern of texture and volume, shade the flower, pressing the pencil more strongly and rubbing the resulting strokes with a finger or eraser.
- Color the stem and leaves of the flower with green and yellow pencils.
- With a black pencil shade the stem of the flower.
- Start painting the flower with a red pencil, starting from the base of the petals. With a black pencil draw the shadows and penumbra of the flower.
- When the flower is fully ready, you can finish the background.
