The life of Elina Bystritskaya Elina Bystritskaya was born in Kiev. Her parents were doctors, and Elina almost became a doctor herself. During the war, she helped her parents in the hospital, took nursing courses, and in 1944 even entered a medical college. Bystritskaya’s father dreamed that his daughter would follow in his footsteps, but this was not destined to come true.





Studying at the technical school did not attract her, but there the girl found herself participating in a drama club. This is where her love for the stage began. To better master acting, Elina enrolled in a ballet class. Three years later, she graduated from the technical school, but she categorically refused to continue her studies in the specialty of medicine. Bystritskaya wanted to immediately enter the theater institute, but her father was against such a decision.

Then the girl entered the Nezhin Pedagogical Institute. Although there she was engaged in a dear business: she organized a dance team, which soon won the competition. Thanks to this occasion, she met actress Natalia Gebdovskaya, who convinced the girl to develop her talent.





That's what Elina did. She took the documents from the pedagogical school and entered the theater institute. And so began her rise to glory. Her theatrical biography began in Vilnius. There, on the stage of the city drama theater, she played Varya in the play Port Arthur, Olga in the production of Years of Wandering and Alenushka in Scarlet Flower. Although Bystritskaya did not want to stop there and dreamed of playing on the capital stage.

However, this dream was destined to come true much later, after Bystritskaya played in the film “Volunteers”. After that, she moved to Moscow and settled in the Maly Theatre, where she worked all her life. Spectators admired her magnificent game in the performances “Woe from Wit”, “Masquerade”, “The Main Role”, “Davniks” and many others.





The actress began her way to the cinema from a young age. For the first time she starred in the film Taras Shevchenko. She was offered a cameo role, but the footage with her participation was eventually cut from the film. Then Elina decided for herself that she would not return to the cinema. Fortunately, this promise was not fulfilled.

In 1950, director Vladimir Brown invited Bystritskaya to the film In Peaceful Days. In this picture, she played with such stars as Vyacheslav Tikhonov, Vera Vasilyeva and Georgy Yumatov, but she was not lost against their background and the audience remembered a beautiful and unusual young actress.





The next film - "Unfinished Tale" - brought Bystritskaya recognition and fame. After the newspaper “Soviet culture” for the role in this film named her actress of the year, Bystritskaya entrusted a trip to the first Week of Soviet cinema in Paris. It was there that she learned that filming of Quiet Don began in Moscow.

Director Gerasimov six months chose the actress for the role of Aksinya, and has already approved Nonna Mordyukova. However, Mikhail Sholokhov himself insisted that Bystritskaya played Aksinho. In 1958, the film was released on screens, it became Bystritskaya’s finest hour, and the role of Aksinya became a key one in her career.





Then there were shootings in the films “Everything remains to people”, “Seven days after the murder”, “Brave guys”, “Last tour”. The last roles of the actress in the movie were the images of Eleanor in the feature film “Babi Yar” (2002), Princess Olga in the historical film trilogy “The Saga of the Ancient Bulgars”. The Tale of Olga the Saint (2005) and Alina Stanislavovna in the detective “The Return of Mukhtar” (2006).

The personal life of Elina Avrahamovna was not easy. She always had a lot of fans, because few people could resist her beauty. The actress was offered many times by high-ranking officials, but she strongly refused them. Because of this, she was no longer allowed to tour abroad and even be called to the movies, but Bystritskaya did not give up her principles.





The actress was married only once. Her husband was Nikolai Kuzminsky, who worked in the Ministry of Foreign Trade. They lived more than 25 years and, according to the actress, were happy. Her husband was older than Elina. She said she could listen to his stories for a long time, argue and laugh. Unfortunately, after many years of life, they separated. The couple had no children.

In an interview, Elina Avrahamovna has repeatedly said that she has no regrets. She was happy and happy to have a husband. And she was philosophical about parting and said that nothing can last forever. She devoted her life to work: her favorite theater and stage.





In recent years, the actress began to fail health. She sought medical attention twice in 2017, later on. condition It got worse and as a result she was hospitalized. The actress complained of pulling chest pain. Doctors found that the pain arose due to atherosclerotic heart disease.
