Why children like to spend holidays in the countryside
People who grew up in the Soviet Union can hardly boast that they spent summer holidays in foreign resorts. Some, of course, can, but most remember spending the summer with their grandmother in the village. And it was not boring at all, on the contrary, the children wanted to go to the village to tell the children about their exciting adventure in the yard.
Today's edition. "Site" I decided to give myself a little nostalgia and remember, How the kids spent the summer In the village of Grandma in Soviet times.
Many children in the early spring began to plan their trip to the village. We dreamed about how the school year would end, the last bell would ring, and we could pack up and go on an exciting journey. And even if you didn't have a grandmother in the village, there were still relatives who would take shelter and invite you to visit.
Relatives were found, the school year is over - it's time to go. Before that, your mother packs you a small hotel from the city, because you can't go empty-handed. In this hotel often put "urban" delicacies, which in the village at that time it was more difficult to get.
In the opposite direction, along with the child closer to the autumn, various hotels from the village went: fruits and vegetables, jam, homemade blanks and other delicacies. But then, who at the beginning of the holiday is thinking about coming back? The adventures are just beginning.
Children who came to the village rarely could afford to beat baklushis all day. Most often, they had to do the work they needed to do. There is always a lot of work in the village, and extra hands will not hurt. Some were entrusted with the care of animals, others - weeding the garden, and all without exception - collecting berries. Maybe it wasn't fun to pick them up, but it was delicious to eat afterwards.
It is worth remembering how delicious our grandmothers cooked in the village. Everything is hearty, fragrant, although the dishes are the simplest. Grandmothers tried to pamper the children and cooked their favorite dishes. None of the children felt the scarcity of those times, because grandmothers had the art of making a culinary masterpiece from what was at hand.
This disciplined the children and taught them to work. Many returned to the city, having received unprecedented skills for urban children: learned to milk a cow or chop firewood. There were few benefits to this in the city, but how much pride it brought.
Of course, I didn't go to work all the time. There was also time for entertainment. There were not so many of them in the village, which made them show imagination. It’s hard to imagine how much fun there is to have. Of the available entertainment was more dancing and movies on weekends.
The films were shown at a local club. Needless to say, the kids were thrilled. Instead of popcorn, a handful of seeds, and instead of special effects, a film break. Same option. After the movie, there were dances that were considered adult entertainment. The children wanted to dance with the elders, but they were often sent home.
There was so much in the Soviet village that it is difficult for modern children to imagine. So much fun, adventure and stories that have been told for a year. And it is an endless supply of pleasant memories, thanks to which children grew up wonderful people.
Everyone had something different: the story of their first love, memories of fishing with their grandfather, incredible emotions from the fact that their uncle allowed them to ride a motorcycle with him. All this gave Soviet (and not only) children the best childhood. I am sure everyone remembers something from that time. Do you have a story from your grandmother’s summer?
