In order for the sprouts to ripen to the time of warm and long days, sow the seeds in late autumn or early winter. Before planting seeds in the ground, scarification is necessary (partial violation of the integrity of a solid waterproof shell). To do this, rub the peas with sandpaper or scratch with a knife.

Soak them for a few days in warm water. When the seeds are swelled, place them in a cup with wet calcined sand to a depth of 1 centimeter.

Cover the film and leave to sprout in a warm and bright room. Water the sand from time to time. When the first shoots appear, remove the film. When 3-4 leaves appear on the plant, you can transplant it into a pot.

Put the cutting in a cup filled with wet sand, or a cropped bottle of lemonade and cover the jar so that there is high humidity.

It is advisable to spray the cutting with water two or three times a week. Rooting can occur in 3-4 months, after which the plant can be transplanted into a pot.

  3. Seedling
Fill the pot with a drainage layer and part peat moss, perlite and two parts compost. In the store you can buy a ready-made substrate designed for succulents. The larger the pot, the higher the bush will grow.

Carefully spread the young shoots of the root system in the soil and sprinkle with earth. After transplanting, put the pot with laurel in a place where there will be diffuse lighting or penumbra. Don't put it under direct sunlight.

The optimal temperature for growing laurel is 15-20 degrees in summer and 10-12 degrees in winter. Laurus likes moist air. So spray it with water, do a shower once a month or just put a container of water near the pot.

2 years after planting, transplant the tree into another pot, as its roots will be tight. With proper care, the laurel tree can grow more than 2 meters high.
