Stairs to the second floor with their own hands, which will save a couple of thousand to the owner

Repair is a separate art form. It is so nice to see the work done with your own hands. Of course, repairs require a lot of money and time. But there are things you can do yourself, and they will save you a decent amount. Today we will tell you how to do it. staircase for the second floor in a small house.

In this case, we will make a staircase 1.25 m high, in which the steps are 18 cm wide and 60 cm long. If the boards are not too thick, you will have to duplicate the details and glue them together. That's what we're gonna do, but in the meantime, look at the ladder drawing.

You'll need it.
  • board
  • glue
  • screwdriver
  • screws
  • door hinges
  • slipper
  • pit-stone
  • plumbing
  • saw
  • marker
  • sandpaper
  • gas-lift

  1. Attach the coal to a small board with two rods. So you will get the perfect pattern for drawing corners on the sides of the stairs.

  2. Step back from the edge of the board 10 cm and draw with a marker using a drawing angle. Cut these corners with a jigsaw. But not all the way. So that the corners turned out without chips and chips, finished the corners with an ordinary saw.

  3. Do the same with the other side of the ladder. Note that the drawings on the left and right side are slightly different. On the other side of the stairs from the edges you need to retreat 20 cm, then draw the corners.
  4. The side parts are made of 2 pieces, as well as steps, because the board is not wide enough. Therefore, glue all the details together with furniture glue and put under load.

  5. When the parts are glued together, you can assemble a ladder. Put all the details on the table or on the floor. The steps of the folding ladder are attached to the door hinges. Fix the hinges on each side of the steps with a screwdriver.

  6. Drilled on the extreme side of the stairs from above and below a hole for furniture legs. Put furniture legs in the stairs.

  7. Lock the legless side against the wall. Adjust the side of the stairs with legs so that it stands steadily in the unfolded form.
  8. Fold the stairs and fasten to the back of the steps of the gaslift through one step. This staircase has 5 steps, so you need 3 furniture gaslifts. Now the ladder will descend smoothly.

  9. The final touch is the railing. From three boards or sticks, make a handrail directly on the stairs. Done.

This staircase is a great option for small houses. Simple in execution and easy to clean when not needed. We recommend watching a full training video if the instructions are not clear.
