To properly paste wallpaper, you need experience, but flaws happen to professionals. Half the trouble, if just peeled off the edge of the cloth. It can be glued back. But much worse when the wallpaper diverges and a wall with a layer of primer is exposed at the junction.



The problem most often happens when the wallpaper chosen for repair has a paper and textile basis.

The reason may be too much glue or a long time between its application and gluing.



In any of these cases, the sheets will have excess moisture and they will swell. During drying, the wallpaper sheets will narrow and the same gap will appear. But don't worry. There's a way out!

1. Under the paint.
   Cover the joints with sealant and paint the wall.
2. For paper wallpaper
   Wet the joints with spray water. Wait 5-10 minutes for them to get wet and become softer. Carefully pull the sheets together and stick to PVA.
3. For layered wallpaper
   You'll need wallpaper clippings, sandpaper and PVA glue. With the help of sandpaper, remove the top layer with a pattern from the pruning. Mix the resulting crumb with PVA glue. Carefully apply this paste to the joints. Rub the top with a wet sponge.

The resulting gaps can also be glued with wallpaper clippings. You will need a metal ruler, sharp blade and glue. Cut a thin strip by the size of the slit and paste on the free space. The method is quite time-consuming and not suitable for everyone.

The seam between the wallpaper is noticeable even with high-quality docking The problem periodically occurs at the junctions of vinyl and flieselin wallpaper. It seems that the joints are adjusted as they should, but in the places where the sheets are connected, there is an unpainted strip that will have to be painted.



The fact is that expensive wallpaper usually consists of several layers. When forming sheets at the plant, the upper layer can be cut shorter than the base. It also happens that the coating on the edge is damaged during transportation or improper storage.

1. Cosmetic pencil
   If the pattern is glossy, gently paint over the joints with a cosmetic pencil and rub them with a clean cloth.
2. Colour paste
   Pick the coloring paste to the coating tone. Be sure to check the color on the wallpaper clippings. Apply the paste with a thin spatula or cotton swab. Wipe the place with a microfiber wet wipe. The seam will stain and become invisible.

The easiest way out is to take the usual PVA glue in a bottle with a nose, carefully lift the edges of the wallpaper and apply a thin layer of glue under them. Then you need to smooth the place of gluing with pure matter.

The gap between the wallpaper may appear the next day after gluing or a year later, but in any case there is no reason to be upset! Whatever the reason, there are simple ways to cope with this household nuisance.
