KAMAZ has developed an electric bus that charges in 15 minutes
KAMAZ PJSC, together with Drive Electro, developed the KAMAZ-6282 electric bus, the presentation of which was held within the framework of the visiting technical council in Podolsk.
KAMAZ-6282 is a second-generation electric bus. Unlike the first version, which had to be charged for several hours at night, it can be charged in just 15 minutes. In addition, the charging process can take place in low temperatures. The range on one charge of the battery is 100 kilometers.
The total capacity of the electric bus is 85 passengers (24 seats). It is adapted for people with limited mobility (low-floor), equipped with video cameras and satellite navigation. The positive qualities of the KAMAZ electric bus were told by the chief engineer of the State Unitary Enterprise “Mostransavto” Viktor Khalzov.
“It [the electric bus] operates on one of the routes of the Odintsovo enterprise, which serves Skolkovo. This is a reliable electric bus that can operate within 100 kilometers without recharging. The first copy could only be recharged at night. This one works under accelerated charge conditions and can recover its charge within 15 minutes. First, electric refueling will be installed on the territory of Skolkovo, in the future as the transport scheme develops, if the experience of using electric buses is positive, we will extend it to other routes and equip the infrastructure, Khalsov said.
The fare in the new transport is not planned to increase, while the speed will increase, since the electric bus accelerates better and brakes more smoothly.
In May 2016, the French company Navya released the world’s first unmanned electric bus, available in free sale. The 15-seat Arma electric bus is already used to transport workers at the Sivo nuclear power plant in western France and is also being tested in Singapore and Las Vegas. published
P.S. And remember, just changing our consumption – together we change the world!
