EVgo and ABB installed the first fast charging station in California

About the projects for the installation of fast charging stations (150 kW) we have been hearing for a long time, but it was all still on paper. The so-called station "fast charging" still was the old model and limited capacity of 40-50 kW, except of course the Supercharger from Tesla, but finally came the first tangible station with a capacity of 150 kW.

It happened in the USA in Fremont, California thanks to the cooperation of ABB and one of the largest networks of charging stations, EVgo. Charger 150 kW can provide charging at a speed of nine miles per minute and may in the future to upgrade to 350 kW, which will increase the speed to 20 miles per minute.

While this is the first prototype for testing new charging station will be available for for automotive research vehicles upon request, and is intended to inform about the progress in the development of electric vehicles, range, capacity and speed of charging. Currently, automakers are preparing for mass production of electric cars, is able to maintain a charging current. The emergence of such mass-produced cars is expected in the next two years.

As one would expect of a charging station equipped with CCS Combo connector accepted and supported by most manufacturers of the Old and New world.

P. S. And remember, only by changing their consumption — together we change the world! ©
