The festival of winter fishing in South Korea

On the frozen river in Hwacheon, South of the demilitarized zone (DMZ) separating the two Koreas, from 14 January to 5 February, the annual festival of fishing trout Hwacheon Sancheoneo Ice Festival. The main event of the event — fishing for trout, caught not only rods but also hands. In addition to fishing the festival there are other winter activities: sledding, skiing, skating, snowman, downhill on ice slides and much more. The festival attracts over 1,000,000 visitors each year.
