Nio EP9 — electric hypercar on MW

The Chinese company NextEV launched a unit for production of road cars under the name Nio. The first model was an electric "hypercar one-megawatt" (the power plant has 1360 horsepower) — Nio EP9, which will be released in limited edition.





Hypercar designed in collaboration with experts NextEV own team in Formula E. Despite the fact that it is completely road car, the coupe is built in accordance with safety requirements racing category of the FIA LMP1, which are top sports prototypes in the "24 hours of Le Mans".

The company claim that at 240 kilometers per hour Nio EP9 provides twice more clamping force than a Formula 1 car is 2.5 tons. The machine can withstand of 2.53 G of lateral overload and 3.3 G longitudinal accelerations.





The coupe received a carbon fiber monocoque chassis, four electric motors (one per wheel) and two blocks of lithium-ion batteries that can be recharged in 45 minutes or replace over eight minutes. The mass of Nio EP9 — 1735 kilograms (about 200 pounds heavier than the LaFerrari and McLaren P1). Power reserve of new items — more than 425 kilometers.

From zero to 100 kilometers per hour the novelty can be accelerated for 2.7 seconds. The maximum speed of 312 kilometers per hour.





In Nio EP9 claim that hypercar drove the "North loop" Nurburgring in 7 minutes of 5.12 seconds. It is 17 seconds faster than the previous track record among electric cars, installed a prototype TMH EV P001, but nearly eight seconds slower than the Porsche 918 Spyder.

Results will be issued six copies of the Nio EP9. The price of the hypercar is not yet announced, but in Nio EP9 stated that the construction of one such machine will cost the company $ 1.2 million.
