Tesla has released a commercial battery Powerpack 2 200 kWh

Tesla has unveiled the next generation of commercial lithium-ion battery Powerpack 2, the power of which, compared with the previous, has been doubled, up to 200 kWh.

Also in the system backup energy storage Powerpack 2 a new reversible inverter, Tesla designed and produced in the factory, Gigafactory. It allows you to double the capacity without increasing the size of the system offers great performance with maximum efficiency of 99%.

The previous model had 16 separate sets of batteries, each with an isolated DC to DC Converter to AC. This design makes it easy to change individual elements.

"This is the cheap, productive and energy-intensive industrial inverter on the market, — stated in the Tesla blog. Also it greatly simplifies the process of installation of the entire system Powerpack by integrating a number of elements that were formerly separate."

System Powerpack is designed for businesses that need storage for renewable energy. With her help, they could also reduce the load on the power supply and reduce electricity costs during peak hours.

The price of Powerpack 2 has not yet been announced, but the previous model cost about $25 000.

Tesla relies on a system of solar energy storage, is partnering with Panasonic in production of batteries at the Gigafactory in Nevada and announced its intention to acquire the largest U.S. manufacturer of solar panels for roofs, the company SolarCity.

And for private landlords Tesla submitted a joint with startup SolarCity solution – a beautiful solar panel in the form of tiles with different textures and house battery Powerwall 2 to 14 kW*h. published
