Mercedes-Benz, part of German automotive company Daimler AG decided on the timing of serial production of the first all-electric car under the brand of EQ.



Recall that a month ago at the Paris motor show Mercedes-Benz showed a concept crossover Generation EQ. It is equipped with two electric motors (front and rear) with a total capacity of 400 horsepower. The battery pack reportedly can provide up to 500 km on one charge.

So, it is reported that the first production car under the name EQ will be the model on the basis of the shown electric concept crossover. The production is planned to organize by the end of the decade. It will be produced at the company Mercedes-Benz in Bremen. Here already produce cars with traditional internal combustion engines and hybrid power plants.



Battery packs for electric vehicles of Mercedes-Benz brand EQ will deliver ACCUmotive, a subsidiary of Daimler AG. It is assumed that ACCUmotive will be responsible for the supply of batteries for all electric and hybrid cars, Mercedes-Benz, and Smart.
