How to create a fan-shaped crown in the stone

If the garden is small, or important decorative well-shaped trees, or, finally, there is an empty space near a wall or fence, then you should limit treetop artificial forming.

Fan form is mainly used for stone-fruit speciessuch as cherries, plum, peach, apricot, almond.

Pruning

Stone fruits such as peach and plum are never pruned in winter or early spring to avoid exposing them to the risk of disease milky sheen and bacterial cancer. Pruning should be producing in the spring a little before or after the leaves open and during the summer. Pruning of sweet cherry and cherry is usually carried out before blooming of kidneys.

Selection of seedlings

For fan-beam shape purchase is already partially formed in the nursery seedling with 5-12 shoots (depending on his age), which are evenly spaced and are suitable for the formation of the first branches of the fan.

Support system

To support fans need a system of support wires attached to the wall or the fence every 15 cm, or two bricks, from 30 cm above the soil. Reiki is tied to the supporting wires and thin wire.

The choice of location

Often heat-loving plants grow in South and South-West brick walls that akkumuliruya the daytime heat from the sun and allow to ripen heat-loving crops in the middle lane.

Explanation

The first 3 figures show how to form the two lower boughs on which are located branches forming a fan-shaped crown.

The first year (forming a fan-shaped crown)

1. First year, spring

Annual spring sapling with the branches cut to lateral branches approximately 60 cm above the ground, making sure that below there are two good buds or branches facing to the right and to the left. All the remaining side branches cut on one kidney.

If a suitable lateral branches not, shorten the seedling growth on the kidney, narrow and pointed. If you find the growing kidney is difficult, cut to a triple Bud, consisting of two round, flower, and growth.

If the plant already has two strong lower branches, they can be directly used for forming a fan-shaped crown (Fig.3), giving Fig.1 and Fig.2.

2. The first year, beginning of summer

In early summer, select three strong escape. The top point vertically, and the other two left and right, selecting the ones that are just below the bottom wire. All other buds and shoots get completely.

3. The first year, June-July

As lengthening of two lateral shoots tie them to the slats at a 45° angle. When they both reach lengths of 50 cm, in June or July, completely remove the Central escape. Paper over the wound.

For the second year

4. Second year, spring

In the spring, trim the two side branches on a big triple or a kidney 30-50 cm from the trunk. It stimulates the growth of new shoots in the coming growing period. Paper over the wound.

5. Second year, summer

In summer, select four strong escape on each major side branch: one is to extend the existing branch, two, evenly spaced on the upper side of the branches, and another on the bottom — so the tree to the end of the growing season had eight main branches. The other shoots as they shorten the appearance of leaving one sheet.

Carefully attach each new shoot to the rail to extend to the side of the fan. The centre at this stage to leave open.

Third year (forming a fan-shaped crown)

6. Third year, spring

In spring, shorten all wires by about a third, cutting them to facing down the growing kidney. Paper over the wound.

7. Third year, summer

Summer give to increase growth in each of the eight main branches. Collect three more to escape each branch and send them out, tied to the rails on the wire, so to fill the remaining space of the wall or fence. Remove the kidneys, leading to the wall and the rail. Of the remaining buds give rise to shoots every 10 cm.

Shorten to one sheet, all superfluous shoots. Repeat as necessary until the end of summer.

When the selected side shoots will give 50 cm of growth, remove them to the point of growth if only they are not required to create a skeleton.

8. The third year, the end of summer

At the end of summer, when the selected side shoots will give about 50 cm of new growth remove the growing point on each and tie them to the rails on the wire. The following year, these accessions produced fruits.

This year, the tree should be considered as a's a fruit, and further pruning each species has some peculiarities due to the type of fruiting — i.e. on any of the branches to produce more flower buds.published
