The first plate solar sidewalk installed in Idaho

Two years later, after stacking of several hexagonal solar panels as an experiment, and 11 months after development of more sophisticated models of the third generation, the company Solar Roadways has completed the installation of the first fragments of 30 tiles with a total area of 150 square meters of the future "solar" square in Sandpoint, Idaho.

Each panel is capable of producing 48 W, 12 W higher than the figure of the previous version by changing mounting holes on the side connectors. The new units are equipped with four heating elements in the event of snowfall or ice formation. They also create a light with 300 SuperBright LEDs with 16 million color shades. In the near future it will be possible to configure a light show to any interested person via the mobile app. The city administration in the framework of this project intends to go even further — to run in the area of Central square and free public Wi-Fi and deploy a charging station for electric cars.

The second pilot project Solar Roadways involves the installation of solar panels on the sidewalk in Conway, Missouri at bus stops one of the city routes. published
