UNStudio is an unusual skyscraper with a facade in the form of a beehive in Singapore





Company UNStudio recently unveiled plans for new dual-tower commercial and residential complex in Singapore named V on Shenton. It will be the headquarters of the defense industry. Built in the heart of the Central business district of Singapore, the new building of the defense industry will provide the workers with offices and apartments eco-friendly and energy saving design.





The facade of the skyscraper is composed of hexagonal blocks, which create the semblance of a hive. This is done to minimize heat and provide an abundance of natural light. In three building parts of the greenhouse that will not only relax, but also cleaner air.





V on Shenton (pronounced Five on Shenton) will be part of the Central business district and will accommodate modern offices and residential space in two towers. 23-storey office tower with a design similar to the surrounding buildings, while the 53-storey residential tower different from the rest of the city. On the ground floor a large lobby connects the towers to each other and provides space for the reception and cafe. The hexagon forms the basic modular shape of the facade and a lot of times is repeated to create the semblance of a hive.
