Device UID Cookie Box will give you a cookie

Device UID Cookie Box (Box of cookies) was a two-week project, designers Daniel Janson (Daniel Jansson), Alexis Maureen (Alexis Morin) and Sharon Williams (Sharon Williams), held this fall at the Institute of design of Umea in Northern Sweden.

This amazing Box of cookies half made of thick acrylic plastic and half wood fiber boards, and all this cubic structure was placed in an aluminum tray.

Part of the reason for such a piecemeal design is that it is easier to fill the box and maintain the device, although it in addition must be adopted and precautions against unauthorized access inside. Moreover, the contents are so alluring.

After filling the Boxes of cookies with the help of laser etching on the surface of the hardboard was placed the instructions for use. The principle of operation of the Box is that each sent a message with the required hash tag on Twitter, issued a cookie.

Moreover, the developers have taken care not only about the entertainment of visitors, but also their figure, so a cookie is issued to one person not more often than once every five minutes. And if a sweet tooth is trying to get a new batch before the five-minute period, the device is issuing the cookie starts to flash red.

The device is powered by Arduino, which communicates with the computer wirelessly through XBee. A special program monitors messages and command results cookies. The whole procedure takes just a few seconds. The code for your project available to everyone on the largest web service for hosting and collaborative development Github projects.

This wonderful entertainment would be a great enticing maneuver the masses into the museums and exhibitions: an interesting and unusual to watch, and cookies to eat, and culturally enlightened.
