Ukrainian student could become the first settler on Mars
22-year-old student, who is studying in aviation University in Kiev passed the first registration stage of the Mars One project.
At first he was going to send application for participation: "I learned about the project from the news and just wrote, that I can help as a volunteer," says Dmitry. After that, he personally received a letter from one of the leaders of the project scientist, Norbert Kraft, they talked on Skype, and Norbert sent Ukrainians in the application for participation. Now Dima is waiting for the results of the first selection, and hopes that its application will take place in the second.
The controversial initiative from the Netherlands has caused a lot of controversy. The fact that the colonists, who in 10 years will go to Mars, back to back. at this stage of space development is unrealistic.
Scientists suggest that after 2023 each year to Mars will send four Earthling (need to go 7 months), and in five years they will be able to create a colony of twenty people. They will need to do investigation of the surface and interior of the planet, but on Earth all this time their show will be a reality show. While there is no guarantee that the flight will be successful, and people will be able to survive on the red planet, nobody gives.
