Created a prototype bamboo concept car

Filipino designer Kenneth Cobonpue and the German Albrecht Birkner the conceptual project bamboo car "Phoenix" explores the relationship between technology and nature. It took ten days to craftsmen manually produced car made of bamboo, rattan, steel and nylon. Form of its body mimics a leaf, using a single "trunk-stem", similar to the spine or stem of the plant. Housing is an amazing concept car fully gossip in the direction from front to rear and back, forming the interior, the dashboard and seats.





Two components is connected to the vehicle at the rear of, creating the "stem-stalk". "Phoenix" not only focuses on form and design, but also challenges the perception of machines as products of heavy industry. Used in the development of biodegradable materials have been successfully refute stereotypes about the exclusive use of dense, long-lasting use of materials for production and design of vehicles.





This project is considering the possibility of affordable and ecological housing replacement car if necessary, while preserving at the same time the former interior design. According to the designers, this project introduces nature and craftsmanship into automotive technology.
