Spain has built the biggest eco-catamaran in Europe
On March 31 the water was lowered a pleasure catamaran, which seats 150 people. In its work, the ship uses different types of eco-friendly energy.
The catamaran, which is assembled according to the drawing of ESO Slim will use for walking tourists. Its length was 25 meters and the width is 11 meters.
The propulsion installation of the vessel — hybrid. Engine power 9.5 kW due to the work of two forty wind turbines and solar panels. Moreover, in the system just in case, installed a diesel generator. Complete this installation have a 90 lead-acid batteries and a 2 kW hydrogen battery.
The movement of a catamaran provide two electric motors, which are powered by batteries. Batteries replenish their stocks of electricity from solar batteries, wind turbine or diesel generator. The total time the ship was close to 4 hours, and fully charge within 1.5 hours.
The right and left parts of the catamaran were built separately from each other from polymeric materials. In addition to reducing the weight by 50 %, in comparison with other similar vessels of capacity have been improved hydrodynamic characteristics and the water resistance decreased by 20 %.
