Business card of the Columbia valley is a unique palm

Wisconsina a palm or Andean Ceroxylon – the national tree of Colombia and the highest palm tree in the world. This type of palm grows in large groups only in the high valley of cocora (Department of Quindio, Northwest Colombia).





These trees are unique in nature and they — the calling card of Colombia. Cocora valley is in the headwaters of the river Quindio (the main river of the Department of Cundinamarca), at an altitude of between 1900 and 2500 meters.





Valley — the so-called entrance to the national natural Park "Los Nevados", which is located on the territories of four departamentos of Colombia (Tolima, Caldas, Quindio and Risaralda) and covers an area of 60 km square.





The valley is at a great height, because of this it is almost always covered in clouds. Huge palm trees that pierce the clouds provide an exciting and even a bit incredible.

Wisconsni palm trees grow up to 50 meters and live for about 120 years.
