Fenghuang – the most beautiful town of China

The old town of Fenghuang is located in the South-West Chinese province of Hunan, at the foot of the mountains on the banks of the river Tucsan. The town is surprisingly well preserved, it is not affected by upgrading, here you can find a huge number of ethnic languages, arts, customs. Also in town You can see old buildings in the architectural styles of the Ming and Qing dynasties. Fenghuang has maintained a pristine appearance and layout of the times of the Ming Empire of the XIV century and the Qing dynasty of the seventeenth century. In the old quarter there are more than 200 ancient residential buildings, some 20 large and small streets, the old city walls, and 10 oldest parks and lanes, gates, towers, bridges, temples, wells, etc. and all is practically in its original form.





The town of Fenghuang is located on the site where once was a wild frontier region. The local district Weiyang founded in the second year of Caiguna, during the reign of Empress Wu (686 BC).





The city walls of red stone go along undulating mountain scenery, through the rocky valleys and ridges, and river meander along the mountain corridors, then proceed through the city.





Tall and majestic city towers are opposite the four gates, and houses and halls like palaces, elegant courtyards and houses of different national styles, which are evenly distributed on both sides of the streets.
