National monument of Colombia is a giant monolith near Guatape

Close to Columbia city Guatapé is one of the largest monoliths, he came to this place about 70 million years ago. The sizes of the blocks are amazing! Residents seen its shape over tens of kilometers. The monolith weighs about 10 million tons, and its height is 200 m.
Near the monolith is the lake.



Anyone can climb to the top of the monolith. There is a staircase of 644 steps. On top was a small restaurant, it was created specifically for tourists.








Monolith is considered a national monument of Colombia.
