Design of the stadium for the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo

Tokyo will host the 2020 Summer Olympics. The project of the stadium, where the opening and closing ceremonies are supposed to take place, the Japanese authorities entrusted one of the most famous architects of our time - Zaha Hadid.

Hadid won a competition in 2012 to renovate the outdated Kasumigaoka National Stadium, which hosted the 1964 Olympics. After reconstruction, the old stadium should turn into a grandiose three-tier structure with a sliding roof, seating 80 thousand people.

The stadium will be connected by pedestrian overpasses with the neighboring area of the Japanese capital, and from its perimeter you can admire the views of the city. Already in 2019, the stadium is planned to be tested during the Rugby World Cup.
