A unique house on the site of an abandoned quarry
Hyde+Hyde Architects has built a residential building on the outskirts of a national park in Wales, on the site of an abandoned quarry. The design of the building provides for minimal impact on the topography of the site - the main part of the house is above the ground, reinforced on the supporting elements. The walls are made using SIP panels sheathed with Corten steel, providing reliable thermal insulation. On one side of the house is a glass wall, which opens a magnificent view of the natural landscape for the two-level room located behind it.
