A round trip on the Tesla Roadster



The accident to the Spaniard Rafael de Mestre, making the first voyage around the world in a production electric car, almost became the reason for his leaving the race. 2 September driven de Mestre Tesla Roadster got into an accident on the German autobahn, when to finish remained roughly 1000km. Fortunately the driver was not injured, and even took pictures of the broken front of his electric car. The initiator of the accident was the car brand BMW, which Tesla Roadster crashed into the back of the Toyota Auris.





Damage to the electric car were not as serious as it might seem at first and the team of mechanics from Tesla Munchen restored it in a few days. The geometry of the body of the Tesla Roadster was not broken, and the repair was only replacing some elements of the frontal part. De Mestre intends to complete the voyage around the world on the 9th of September, he was started on may 11 from Barcelona.

The Spaniard is not the only one who makes a world tour in an electric car. The French crew of the Electric Odyssey on electric car Citroen C-Zero (similar to Mitsubishi i-MiEV) is also involved in the world.
