Green skyscraper Bosco Verticale in the middle of Milan

Italian architects and creatives have come up with a very unusual concept that can become a new word in the greening of modern glass-concrete cities. The idea is to plant trees not near the house, but directly on it.

The project of the “green” skyscraper was developed by the design studio “Boeri” and was called “Bosco Verticale”. Bosco Verticale is not one, but two high-rise buildings. According to the plan of the architects, on the walls, balconies and eaves of houses there will be so many flower beds that they can replace about 10 square kilometers of forest. In total, 480 large and medium-sized trees will be planted on the houses, as well as lawns, flowers and mosses. Also on the “heavenly” flower beds will be planted 5,000 shrubs and about 250 small trees.

The authors of the project hope that the created Bosco Verticale will be a good example for other cities of the world. Of course, the implementation of such a project requires not small financial costs, however, according to scientists, they will pay off due to the improvement of the ecology of the city.

According to experts, Bosco Verticale homes, although more expensive, would help city authorities save on other means of greening and cleaning cities. Finally, we should not forget that the issue of ecology is becoming more acute, cities today are completely anti-ecological and are real sores for nature.

If the V on Shenton skyscraper in Singapore is a business center, then the Bosco Verticale skyscraper is a residential building with 50,000 square meters of living space. On the roof of the house there is a terrace on which its residents can rest. Bosco Verticale is no longer a concept. Two Bosco Verticale homes are under construction in Milan and are in the final stages of construction.
