New York City rooftop farm grows 23 tons of organic produce a year
Brooklyn Grange is an urban rooftop farm with magnificent views overlooking Manhattan. With an area of only 1 hectare, it produces up to 23 tons of organic vegetables annually.
A small chicken coop provides fertilizers to long well-drained beds.
Between the beds alternately stand beehives, which pollinate a wide variety of plants.
