Not toxic if the shoes your child

The Department of ecology of Washington ordered manufacturers of children's products to report whether their products are chemical substances specified in the list of 66 chemicals.

Thanks to the Department, consumers can find out what toxic chemicals were found in more than 200 kinds of baby products, including clothes and shoes. Ecologists have tested this product in retail outlets for compliance with those standards.

Most shocking were the results of the examination of a pair of baby shoes with orange soles and a small brown plastic tape. Orange soles contain a whopping 44% phthalates!

Scientific data indicate that phthalates cause hormone disruption and other serious health problems. Phthalates are added to plastic to make it soft and pliable.
This pair of baby shoes designed to be worn in warm weather, and palatova sole can interact directly with the child's skin for several hours a day.

But that's not all. Environmental testing also showed that:
  • Phthalates, associated with hormonal disorders and other health problems were found in some bath toys and children's cosmetics, shoes and other products for children.
  • Phthalates were found in very high concentration in most part of plastic packaging for children's products
  • Hormone-violating parabens were found in many baby lotions, baby lip gloss and lip balm, baby wipes and makeup for Halloween.
  • The lead, which is known to cause nervous system disorders in children has been found in children's cosmetics, shoes, jewelry and plastic accessories for Halloween.
  • Copper and zinc, which are toxic substances that are found in many metal zippers, buttons, and other metal parts of children's clothing and packaging, and metal ornaments.
