The rating of the most economical electric vehicles published in the United States

Agency for environmental protection in the United States determined the ranking of the most efficient (cost-effective) electric cars sold commercially in the country.

The calculation of the efficiency of the electric car is in the same units as the efficiency of the vehicle with a classic internal combustion engine – the number of miles that can drive the crew on a single gallon of fuel. MPGe. The index "e" denotes the electric carts. What fuels the electric car? You ask. Of course any fuel an electric car does not consume, but the electricity production needed to charge it still leaves a carbon footprint on the ecosystem of our planet.

Therefore, to simplify the classification efficiency of the vehicle, this indicator it was decided to leave as a universal unit of effectiveness.

Thus, the rating of efficiency of modern eco looks like this:

1. BMW i3 = 124 MPGe

2. Chevy Spark EV = 119 MPGe

3. Honda Fit EV = 118 MPGe

4. Fiat 500e = 116 MPGe

5. Nissan LEAF = 114 MPGe

6. Smart Electric Drive = 107 MPGe

7. Ford Focus Electric = 105 MPGe

8. Tesla Model S with 60 kWh battery pack = 95 MPGe

9. Tesla Model S with 85 kWh battery pack = 89 MPGe

10. Toyota RAV4 EV = 76 MPGe

BMWi3 is in the United States from $31350 up to $41350. On one charge the electric car drove 81 miles and accelerates to 100 km/h in 7.2 seconds.
