The first pellet plant in Arkhangelsk sent to Europe

 

 

    




It is noted that the volume of the first supply amounted to 6 thousand tons of wood pellets. They will be used as fuel for a European coal-fired power plants.

As reported by Lesprom Network, a pellet plant located at the sawmill plant of LDK №3, has successfully passed the testing phase of production and currently operates at full capacity of 100 thousand tons of pellets per year.

The first time the plant's products will be supplied to Europe. The company expects that the high quality of wood chips and sawdust used for pellet production will enable it in future to sell the products at a high price in the markets of heat for municipalities and households.





Commenting on the first delivery of pellets, the General Director of Rusforest Matti Lehtipuu said:" the Start of pellet sales is a turning point for production in Arkhangelsk, and gives him the opportunity to achieve positive EBITDA. In Europe, there is strong demand for pellets, and we strive to provide an alternative bioenergy source for European consumers."

The total investment in the pellet plant was about 12 million euros, of which 70% — debt financing.
