Silent wind turbine in the form of rose+video

Compact wind turbines are usually located on the vertical axis, are located in residential areas or close to them. They are smaller, produce far less energy than their older brothers from the countryside and the sea coasts, but the noise still loud enough to disturb residents sleeping areas.

Therefore, the Dutch startup Archimedes undertook the solution of two key problems of local wind turbines: noise and low efficiency. How to assure the company's engineers, they were able to solve both tasks by creating LiamF1, turbines that can generate up to 1,500 KWh of energy per year at wind speed of 5 m/s. This capacity is enough to provide electricity to 50% small apartment, when you consider that the average household in the Netherlands consumes 3300 KWh. the Maximum power of the turbine is about 2,500 KWh per year.

Thanks to the original aerodynamic design of the turbine is virtually silent (45 dB) and very efficient in energy conversion. And the compact size of 1.5 meters in diameter, allows you to place it on the roof of almost any house or on a separate mast.

Cone aerodynamics of the blades gives another advantage – the turbine does not create turbulence, which could interfere with neighboring turbines to efficiently convert the wind into electricity. So I can place several wind turbines.

This wind farm would be a perfect addition to homemade solar panels that have diversified the energy sources, and would be able to get the energy it needs solely from its own sources, i.e. Autonomous, and excess to sell to the grid by "green" tariffs.

If the company is developing a foldable version of the turbine, then its use can very significantly expanded to mobile rescue services.
