Tesla updates its first model

The company Tesla Motors until the end of 2014 will produce a series of updates for its first model, the Roadster. The head "Tesla" Elon Musk said at the meeting with shareholders, reports Jalopnik.

Musk refused to announce details about the upcoming update, noting only that the company intends to do with the Roadster "something cool". Presumably, the manufacturer will modernize the software, thus improving dynamics and cruising range of the electric vehicle.

He also stated that the Roadster next generation will be on the market not earlier than in five years. At the moment the company is focused on the development of the production version of Model X electrocreaser and affordable electric sedan, which would cost less than 40 thousand dollars.

Tesla Roadster first generation appeared in 2008, and orders for the model stopped to take in 2012. Electric car was offered with 248 and 288-horsepower electric motors and a set of lithium-ion battery capacity of 53 kilowatt-hours. The Roadster is able to accelerate from zero to 96 kilometers per hour in 3.7 seconds and a power reserve when fully charged battery is 393 km.

Last update of the model took place in 2012. Then the electric car has received an upgraded electric motor and inverter with the best protection from the cold, improved air conditioning and xenon headlights.
