Who invented the jack?

Devices anological jack first began to use the ancient Romans in military engineering.

With the help of similar mechanisms, the gates in the fortresses were squeezed out. The world’s first automobile hydraulic jack was invented relatively recently, in 1925.

The author of this invention, American Peter Lunati the idea of the mechanism came quite by accident, during a visit to the hairdresser, when he watched how the master, seating his son in a chair, easily fixed the latter at the desired height with the help of a simple hydraulic mechanism.

During the year, Lunati produced an automobile platform lift with a central hydraulic rack powered by a hydraulic unit with a manual pump.

The decision was so successful that over time, every self-respecting motorist began to carry in the car such a necessary thing as a jack.

And even now, many ultra-modern lifting mechanisms work on the principle of the Lunati jack.
