Speaking against the oppression of women, French artist JR has created a series of pictures with images of the faces and eyes of women. Since 2007, photographer, visiting different countries, placed their pictures in unusual places: in the urban slums of Brazil, by train in Kenya, on the ruins of the house in Cambodia. Thus JR wanted to pay tribute to those women who were victims of war, political and religious fanaticism.

The photographer considered a symbolic release of the vessel with his work in the open sea, because in this case the project is not completed and will continue its life in another place, and perhaps will give strength to women who are on the other side and facing daily hardship.
