A video posted on YouTube that shows four cobras standing guard over a baby’s sleep has become incredibly popular with Internet users. In the video, the child, apparently no more than six months old, sleeps on a cot while four cobras with swollen hoods take a defensive position around him.

At some point, the baby begins to move in his sleep and grabs one of the snakes, but the deadly animal remains absolutely calm and does not react to it. In the comments to the video, people share their impressions of what they saw. Some admit to being shocked by the footage. Others believe that the child was put in serious danger, because snakes can bite him at any time. There are others who say that this is just a trick that snake charmers use. According to them, the snakes had their fangs removed and their mouths sewn up.

It’s unclear where the video was shot, but spectacle cobras, some of the most dangerous reptiles on the planet, are found in India and other parts of Southeast Asia. Their length reaches 2 meters, and the venom of one snake is enough to kill 20 people.
