AGCO unveils revolutionary green tractor technology from VALTRA in Nizhny Novgorod

In early June, at an interdepartmental meeting chaired by the Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Russian Federation Mikhail Babich and with the participation of Ministers of the Government of the Russian Federation and heads of regions of the Volga region, issues of replacing traditional fuel with gas engines in order to improve the environmental situation in large cities were discussed. The transfer of equipment to such fuel is carried out on behalf of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, who set the task to introduce modern environmental standards of work, including in such areas as municipal and forestry, as well as housing and communal services.

Opening the meeting, Mikhail Babich noted that the Volga Federal District is the most optimal platform for transferring passenger, communal and agricultural transport to gas fuel, the main advantages of which are environmental friendliness and cheapness. To accelerate the implementation of the program, the state plans to subsidize up to 30% of the cost of the purchased equipment, thereby solving the main difficulty - the lack of funds in the regions.

During the event, participants visited the exhibition of machines running on environmentally friendly fuel. During the inspection of technical innovations, the Governor of Chuvashia Mikhail Ignatiev paid special attention to the new dual-fuel tractor VALTRA Dual Fuel, personally testing it.

The presented tractors VALTRA Dual Fuel are more versatile compared to analogues operating exclusively on gas, in addition, they are significantly more efficient and economical due to the use of dual-fuel engine technology.

The VALTRA Dual Fuel tractor operates on a mix of diesel fuel and compressed natural gas at a rate of 20×80, respectively. This means that a small part of diesel fuel is used to ignite the gas-air mixture, the start of the engine itself is made on diesel fuel. If the gas runs out or when it is not possible to refuel it, the tractor can also run on diesel fuel. The transition from one type of fuel to another can be carried out automatically or manually, explains Oleg Kitsis, Sales Director of Valtra.

VALTRA Dual Fuel can run on both natural gas or transport biogas and biodiesel. But so far, such machines have spread in Europe, where this type of fuel is very popular. VALTRA dual-fuel tractors presented in Nizhny Novgorod can be used in various industries, in particular, in the field of utilities, in the forest industry and agriculture.
