Winter resorts in summer - justifiably or a waste of money

The choice of places for a beach holiday in the summer season is very wide, which is both good and complicates the choice. Someone goes to the already almost Russian-speaking resorts of Turkey, Egypt and Italy, someone prefers cultural recreation and goes on excursions to the cities of Europe, and someone chooses far abroad, more popular in the winter season, for example, Mexico, the UAE or Bali. The latter usually cause compatriots to wonder why fly so far and pay so much if summer is everywhere. Let’s see if you really want to go on a trip in the summer.

Let's start with the pros. So the main advantages:

1. Price.

Countries such as Indonesia, India, Cuba and Thailand have relatively low prices. The only reason why people resort to the services of tour operators when planning this kind of travel is expensive air tickets, which are easier to purchase immediately in a package with accommodation. And in Europe, it is the opposite: you can find relatively inexpensive tickets, but it is much more expensive to relax, eat and travel than, for example, in Thailand, and the result is the same amount, if not more. This is what attracts to the “winter” resorts of those tourists who, for financial or any other reasons (intolerance to abrupt climate change, for example) can not afford such a holiday in the winter season.

2. Not season.

Summer in the countries of Southeast Asia and the Caribbean is a low season, so not only air tickets, but also accommodation and excursion programs are sometimes one and a half to two times cheaper. Which is undoubtedly a plus not only in terms of cost savings, but also in terms of sightseeing. For example, in the summer in Bangkok, it is impossible to see the main sights of the Thai capital (Royal Palace, Wat Pho temple, etc.), without standing before it in huge queues, consisting mainly of Chinese. Agree, the prospect of enjoying the view of the Mayan pyramids, skyscrapers of Dubai and other beautiful places on the planet, without being in a stampede of forever photographing and photographing people is expensive.

3. Absence of countrymen

This sounds ridiculous, but it is one of the most important reasons why people prefer winter resorts in the summer. It’s no secret that Russians sometimes behave on vacation simply unbearable, and it is very tired of their neighbors at the hotel. That is why in a number of countries that are most in demand among our compatriots, there is already a system of Russian Free hotels, especially popular among older Germans. But if Russian people want to live in Russian Free in the summer, they have to fly 10-15 hours from home, but there they can really feel like foreigners and spend time communicating with representatives of other cultures.

Specially experienced divers or surfers who have already explored the entire coast of the Red Sea prefer to go to the Caribbean or Indonesia. Diving and numerous types of surfing in Bali are several times more exciting than, for example, in Egypt or Tunisia, and there is no need to talk about nature - the desert with all its charm, of course, loses to tropical sunsets. The same applies to prices and attitudes towards tourists in principle – those who have been to Egypt and Southeast Asia will confirm that the attitude of Arabs and, for example, Vietnamese towards tourists is very different.

But there are such rest and disadvantages:

1. Weather.

Summer in tropical countries is mainly the rainy season, so when choosing a country for recreation, you need to carefully read the weather forecast and the average monthly rainfall in this region, characteristic of the period of your trip. And for Mexico or the UAE, although precipitation is not characteristic, this time of year is considered the hottest, the temperature even at night does not fall below + 30 ° C. But there is a plus – going on vacation, you know for sure that the weather will be good from a beach point of view. And this is important, because, for example, in European resorts, even in summer, you can never be sure that in a week there will not be a cyclone and everything will not spoil with rain and wind.

2. Entertainment

Or rather, their absence. Due to the low season, in a large number of “winter” resorts in the summer, many nightclubs are either simply closed or work in light mode, that is, the mode of work is reduced and there is no entertainment program, which, incidentally, can also be both a minus and a plus. For a noisy youth company, this is certainly a minus, and for couples or parents with children who prefer a more measured and quiet holiday – on the contrary, a plus! It is also suitable for those who prefer to rent a yacht on vacation and spend more time at sea.

That's all the faults. As you can see, especially weighty arguments “against” could not be found, so if you have always dreamed of seeing Southeast Asia or the Caribbean Islands, it is quite possible that it is worth doing right now, especially since the sites of burning tours are full of all sorts of offers, many of which really deserve attention.
