The cheapest electric car on two concerns



Japanese automakers Nissan Motor and Mitsubishi Motors plan to jointly create cheapest electric vehicle. The two companies had formed a joint venture to develop vehicles that will travel by electricity. The partners intend to March 2016 th year to release the first electric car that cost a mere 1.5 million yen (about 14.5 dollars).

It is planned that the first budget electric car will have a maximum cruising range of 200 kilometers. There is also a note that the car will be compact size as the Mitsubishi i-MiEV and Nissan Leaf. Other details of the project have not been disclosed.

Separately these cars have already proven themselves. So, since the release of Leaf in 2010, it sold about 124 thousand models. The cheap in Japan is the electric model i-MiEV released in 2009. Its cost is 2,52 million yen (24.3 thousand dollars).
