General Motors patents name for new hybrid

Electric car with increased autonomous mileage Chevrolet Volt will survive the change of generations. The new model with increased autonomous mileage will be called Bolt.

A few days ago, Chevrolet announced that next year the Volt will experience a generational change – in particular, the new model will have an increase in autonomous mileage by almost 100 km, which will be possible due to some changes in the powertrain. The car will receive a 3-cylinder gasoline engine, which will replace the current four-cylinder engine with a volume of 1.4 liters. New will also be lithium-ion batteries with a capacity of 17.1 kWh (16.5 kWh in the current version).

The interior of the car, which will be designed for five passengers, will also change. And it is during the change of generations that Volt will appear its smaller twin brother Bolt. General Motors believes the new Volt should retain its market positioning, which means it will still cost around $35,000. The smaller Bolt will sell for about $30,000.
