The house on stilts from forest lake
Canadian architectural firm Atelier Pierre Thibault built a residential country house in Quebec, in the territory of the Laurentian hills. The building is located 60 metres from the Lac Heron in a thick forest, and are mounted on thin metal stilts, towering above the trees. Good location of the house and its height provides great views of the surrounding landscape. This contributes to the spacious, occupying the entire surface of the roof terrace in the center of which is a covered glazed space in case of inclement weather. With the exception of metal and glass elements, the building is constructed of wood, including interior finish that complements its relationship with the forest environment.
