The installation was created by the creative team Captain Boomer and simulates a real beached whale. Set on the banks of the River Thames in London, the sculpture looks very realistically like a real whale. The team of creators used fiberglass in the production of a giant sculpture. They also increased realism by hiring actors. Fake rescue professionals have been hired to model rescue efforts. Experts from the British Maritime Divers Association also attended the presentation to explain the situation to surprised viewers.

The life-size installation was created for the Greenwich and Docklands International Festival. With the help of the Zephyr Wildlife Reconstruction Team, Captain Boomer has created a sculpture designed to increase citizens' environmental awareness. A sculpture of a stranded whale is currently on display at London's Old Naval School.
